Enzymatic Therapy Acidophilus Pearls (90 Pearls) Review.

 "Amazing!!!!!!!" 2008-09-20
By D. Figueroa (Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico)

Update to original review from 9/20/08:

We are continuing taking the pearls daily and they are still working beautifully. The company advertises them as a way to control constipation, but they work well for us for control of diarrhea. I have accidentally forgotten to take them a couple of times now and had my symptoms come right back. These things are worth their weight in gold.

During a recent MRI, a serious sinus infection was found & I had to take HUGE doses of antibiotics for 10 days. I did not get any secondary infections this time, either.

I had such a miraculous recovery from all my gastro problems that my doctor asked me to get some for him & he's been amazed by them, as well. He dislikes prescribing lomotil & wouldn't take anti-diarrheals himself. He told me the last time that I saw him that he's had similar results for whatever his problems were (too much information, I didn't want to know, lol).

Original review:

I have spent years battling with doctors over what 'disease' I have..Crohn's/IBS/Celiac?? I suffered greatly for over 25 years with raging bouts of cramps & diarrhea. If I took Lomotil or Immodium, they would either not work or cause constipation & even more bloating and gas.

5 months ago I went on a modified version of the Metabolic Syndrome Diet and started an exercise regimen, (I have lost over 50 lbs so far), but whole grains seemed to aggravate me even more. I experienced horrible bloating, sporadic diarrhea & a sharp pain in my lower left abdomen. My GP suggested going on Atkins, but I tried that in the 90's and hated it. I don't eat a LOT of carbs, but I wasn't about to give them up altogether!

I can't eat sugar or milk, so most of the plethora of probiotic products on the market were off-limits, so I decided to try acidophilus. I tried the regular acidophilus tablets and they did not help at all.

I saw these on a gold box special and thought that they made sense. It's only logical that stomach acids would alter the bacteria if eaten in yogurt or cheese (my hubby ate those stupid 'activ' cheeses for 21 days straight with NO benefit at all).

After starting the pearls, my entire digestive system seemed to have miraculously returned to what it was in my teens within days. No gas, no bloating, no diarrhea or constipation (from immodium or lomotil, which I no longer have to take). Now I know what 'regular' means..it's wild!

I always got diarrhea, yeast AND bladder infections from antibiotics. The last round of Cipro I took for a badly infected cut did NOT cause me any problems at all, it had to be because of the probiotics. I used to keep Monostat and Sulfa on hand at all times because of the secondary infections I couldn't avoid. No more!

My husband had digestive problems, as well, and the pearls have caused vast improvement for him, too. The doctor hadn't been able to diagnose what was causing his varying diarrhea/constipation bouts, but they're gone & the doctor let him cancel the $1500.00 colonoscopy he had scheduled (bad insurance). Quite a savings!

I will not be without these Acidophilus Pearls ever again if I can help it! After so many years of suffering, I'm simply flabbergasted that something this simple (& cheap) would solve both our problems so quickly. We found that it took about a week for optimal results.

GET them, they're worth a try & they certainly can't hurt you!

If you are experiencing some chronic intestinal-related discomfort, I recommend giving these Acidophilus Pearls a try. It's the same concept as that Dannon Activia yogurt but way more useful, because people with tummy trouble often have lactose/dairy problems and can't eat yogurt. I was getting a lot of bloating and discomfort after eating just about anything and was starting to get freaked out. I've been taking these Pearls for almost 2 weeks now and have definitely noticed a difference. I haven't been having uncomfortable food/intestinal reactions, and without getting too explicit, visiting the toilet these days is practically something I look forward to now. I feel "regular" and "productive" for the first time in months and have a feeling that I had too much intestinal bacteria. These Acidophilus Pearls seem to be doing the trick for me. I hope they work for you, too, because it's no fun to be bloated and gassy all day!!

"If You've Just Finished a Round of Antibiotics, You NEED These" 2007-10-30
By Kerri Elders (Fort Worth, Texas USA)

These acidophilus pearls are easy to store, pack, and take. If you've recently taken a round of antibiotics, you NEED to take acidophilus in some form to re-establish these friendly bacteria in your bowels. Do a Google search to find out why in detail. Not to be too graphic, they help your system eliminate better, plus acidophilus bacterium produce B vitamins as by-products of their work, a big benefit to your body and your general health. Highly recommended for acne sufferers and anyone who has undergone antibiotic therapy. One other perk of this product: the pearls are specially designed to survive your digestive system's somewhat harsh environment (most harsh: the strong acids in the stomach itself) so that they can ultimately colonize in your bowel; you can't always be sure how much of the acidophilus in yogurt and other cultured dairy products will survive the trip.

Great little supplement for those who cannot eat yogurt. It is about the size of a pea, extremely easy to swallow and has greatly helped with my digestive issues.

I highly recomend this product for controlling yeast in the digestive tract. It has been very helpful for me in preventing yeast and urinary infections.

Luvs Premium Stretch Diapers, Size 4 (22-37 Lbs), 180 Diapers Review.

 "Perfect!" 2008-09-11
By P. Vaughn

These diapers are great, they are of the same quality as Pampers, only about $6-7 cheaper for the same amount. They have the stretchy sides that are exactly the same type as Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers. They have a babypowder scent to them, which is a little stronger than the Swaddlers, but not to where it bothers anyone. So far I've tried Target, Wal-Mart brands, Huggies, Pampers and Luvs. From my experience they ALL leak, no matter what they say. Especially when my breastfed baby has an explosive poop while not laying on his back -- this makes the liquid come out from the back of the diaper. But these don't leak as much as Huggies and generic brands. They are also not as rough as Huggies. Like I said, I would compare these to Pampers, I really think they stole their design ;)

"Just as good, if not better than premium diapers!" 2008-04-10
By Ashlee (Miami, FL USA)

I have tried pretty much every diaper under the sun, to include; Pamper's baby dry, swaddlers & cruisers, Huggies snug n dry & supreme, Target brand, and white cloud. I have found that Luvs are my favorite. I really liked the cruisers, but for some reason they gave my son a rash. Luvs were the last type of diaper I tried and I'm so sorry it took me so long to give them a shot! They're similar to Pamper's cruisers onl without the mesh lining and high price tag! This is why I LUV 'em:

1. They're thin, yet very absorbant.

2. They're really soft and have a powdery fresh scent.

3. The elastic keeps messes in, but doesn't irritate baby's legs.

4. The "bear hug stretch" is super stretchy-similar to Cruiser's.

5. Most of all, I love that they cost about 20 cents a diaper compared to the 25 cents that Pamper's cruiser's cost per diaper.

"New Packaging with Same Quality Diapers" 2008-02-22
By Ada Lau (Phoenix, AZ USA)

This is the new packaging with larger quantity. The pricing is a slightly cheaper than the prior 174 package. The diapers are pretty much the same. This item and the diapers are a great value for the price.

It works well with my baby. I use this during the day and Pampers Cruisers at night for the extra thickness.

"Use a bigger size regardless of brand" 2010-04-11
By T. Justice (Pittsburgh, PA)

Just sharing a tip from a friend of mine that has seven kids. Don't use the weight guides and always buy a bigger size than you think you need. This has been a real clothing saver as we haven't had a leak or blow out in three months since we started following this advice. My six month old who is small and only weighs around 16 lbs just moved up to a size 4 diaper. Her advice was to use the biggest size that you could that didn't gap at the leg holes because you can always overlap the waist band. The diaper will look too big but it doesn't affect his clothing fit and it gives the poop a "pouch" to go into since there is space between the diaper and his body and therefore doesn't come out the back. I wish I had known this earlier, it would have saved a lot of stained clothes. Oh, and Luvs diapers are great and what we are using currently, haven't had an issue with those or with Pampers or Huggies since I started following this advice.

 "Great Diaper, Great Price" 2008-09-12
By Samantha Anderson (North Carolina)

These diapers are great. We have used almost all types of diapers and these are my favorite. My son is 17 months old and is always on the go. I have found that these stay in place and do not sag like Huggies. No matter how tight I would put his huggies on, they would gradually fall down and sag.

I would say these are more comparable to Pampers but they are cheaper. Pampers have always stayed in place with my son. Also, I cant say that I really have leaks with Pampers but I have with Huggies. I have never had a leak with these diapers. Who would have thought, cheaper price and better than the higher priced ones.

I highly recommend them

Omron HR-100C Heart Rate Monitor

Omron HR-100C Heart Rate Monitor Review.

"Does exactly what I need it to do!" 2006-04-27
By Favorite Children's Books (FLA USA)

Being a person who hasn't ever joined a gym, I never knew stuff like this existed. I was very interested in this item because I've been walking for exercise but wasn't really sure I was reaching my target heart rate consistently.

The monitor, which displays the time as well as your heart rate on a watch, works in conjuction with a gizmo that you strap around yourself, just under your chest. (I will tell you, since I was concerned about this, that it's hardly noticeable once it's in place...it's a 12" or so long piece of plastic with an adjustable elastic strap...not very bulky at all!) The monitor also features a stopwatch and an alarm, so that after you set your minimum & maximum desired heart rates, you can be alerted when you are out of range. The alarm is a "beep-beep" that I can hear over the book on tape I drag along with me. Your heart rate is updated every second or two so you will always know if you need to pick up the pace a bit.

Although I have not yet had to do so, the chest strap has a removable backing, and you apparently can change the battery yourself (this is a big deal, I guess, since some of the more expensive monitors require that you send them to the factory for a battery change). The elastic strap is also completely removable, which makes it very easy to wash (and you will need to if you're exercising!).

The monitor comes packaged in a small, zippered carrying case, and includes an attachment that allows you to place it on a bicycle handlebar.

This does everything I need it to, and I recommend it for anyone who is just getting started in an exercise program.

"Perfect Hear Rate Monitor for just monitoring your heart rate......" 2006-11-05
By Gluteus Maximus (SoCal)

This is the perfect HRM for anyone just trying to monitor their heart rate. Directions for set up are very easy. The price for this HRM is pretty cheap compared to others. Comes in a great storage zipper bag. If you need something with more features like calorie counting, average heart rate, etc. then you need to looke elsewhere. Now that I can keep track of my target zone for weight loss I have lost 10 pounds in one month. Seems like I was not working hard enough. The alarms are really great and let you know if you are not working out hard enough or workin out too hard. I have purchased two already for myself and girlfriend and both work properly and they do not seem to obstruct with each other. Great buy for beginner or advanced.

"Perfect for what I use it for." 2006-06-25
By Henry Lamb (hlamb88937@aol.com) (Miami, Fl)

I use this while swimming. When swimming the chest strap has to be tightened a little extra, but it works. I also use it for circuit training because first I use the eliptical, then the weight machines. I do not rest between machines to keep heart rate in the proper zone during the entire workout, perfect.

 "Great for the money" 2006-03-31
By Landrover01 (Seattle, WA)

I bought this monitor at a great price and it's worth it. I'm sure there are other monitors out there that are better, but this one still gives you a good indication of your training level. The strap is comfortable and snug. Just like any monitor you have to slightly wet the conductors to get an accurate reading. I did get some fluctuations at certain points but I just had to adjust the strap. The mounting bracket is great and easy to snap on and off. Good for bike riders like me.

 "Great product" 2007-06-13
By Alberto Lopez (Houston, TX USA)

I've been using this product for about a year now. It's the only heart-rate monitor that I've owned. It works extremely well and accurately every time. Batteries last a long time as well, since I haven't had to change them yet. It's changed the way that I view my workouts. For the price, I don't hesitate to recommend it.

Diaper Genie II Refills - Pack of 3

Diaper Genie II Refills - Pack of 3 Review.

"works for litter locker, too" 2007-08-08
By kj (Maryland)

These also work as a refill for the petmate litter locker. They're cheaper than the official litter locker refills, easier to find, and more often on sale. You do have to wrap something around the edge of the refill (a plastic shopping bag works for me) so it doesn't fall through the opening. Buying on here in a 3-pack is nice, esp with free super saver shipping.

 "Always fast delivery" 2007-07-27
By Amanda S. Stevens

Not much that I can say about the product because it holds poopy diapers. It does keep the smell out very nicely. Amazon shipped them FAST and it was nice to buy a three pack and have them delievered to my door with free shipping. Anything to avoid a Wal-Mart!

"I'd buy my refills this way again!" 2007-10-13
By Cldyski (Pennsylvania)

Our old Diaper Genie Twistaway got extremely rank and we couldn't stand it anymore. We found the Genie II and so far it's working out very well -- except for the fact that we can't find refills locally. We have to drive about 45 mins. So we decided to check whether Amazon stocked the refills. Since we have a Prime membership, they're not that much more expensive than in the store since we don't have to pay shipping.

A little more expensive than what you can get it for in the store but it comes straight to your front door.

The product is used widely in our program. It works very well and was received very quickly. I will reorder as we need them.

Charlie's Soap Powder - 2.64 lb (80 Loads)

Charlie's Soap Powder - 2.64 lb (80 Loads) Review.

"Amazing Product! Actually does what it claims!" 2009-02-03
By curlymommyof2 (Illinois)

About a year ago I was desperate. I was trying so hard to find something that would get my husbands uniforms clean. He is a garbage man and comes home covered in so much mistery grime it isn't funny. I had tried Tide, All, store brands, and every type of color safe bleach and pretreater out there. Nothing worked. His work clothes would still be heavily stained, and there were times he would come home on a rainy day saying his clothes reaked as soon as they had gotten wet.

I decided to do net search. I came across a lot of posts from diaper sites saying how great Charlie's was and how clean everything came and how well it removed the smell. Although I was not in search of a diaper detergent, I figured if it could clean those well enough maybe it would work for my problem. I went to their website and checked out their products and the information on them. I am so happy I did.

Charlie's truly does clean. My husband's clothes come out virtually stain free. Which is not bad considering what he gets on himself. The odor problem stopped too. I can use it on all of our laundry from delicates to play clothes, so there is no need for me to have multiple products lying around. It is made to work in Regular or HE machines, so when I switched my machines I did not have to find a new brand.

Other added benefits are: you do not need fabric softener, it is one of the safest detergents on the enviornment, it actually helps keep our clothes almost like new, and it is absolutely awesome for our sensitive skin. In addition to that, it safely maintains the flame retardency of childrens sleep wear and maintains the properties of many other types of working gear as well. It is also very cost effective. It costs less per load than All, Tide, Seventh Generation, and many others. You will also get a better clean than you would with any of the afore mentioned.

The company is also extremely customer orientated. They still practice the almost gone tradition of actually caring about their customers. With any purchase they offer free literature giving advice on hard water, diapers, and first time users (if ordered through them directly). Just make sure you check what literature you need on their order form. They will also answer any questions you may have.

Many have not heard of Charlies. Many will ask if it is so great why isn't advertised nation wide. Well, they are an old fashioned company. They believe word of mouth is far more important than some fancy expensive advertising gimic. Anyone can advertise anything, but only the best products achieve gradual fame through word of mouth. Charlie's Soap is one of those products.

I have tried other detergents that claim to do what Charlies does. One of those being Country Save, but there is nothing I have found that cleans as well as Charlie's soap.

I know it seems I am really excited about this product. Well, I am and I always will be. For the first time, I found a product that does what it says it does. "It really cleans." When was the last time you could say that about a product?

I urge you to give this a try. Whether you are very enviornmentally conscious, want your clothes really clean, have sensitive skin, are in the military and can not use optical brighteners, or just want your money's worth, than this is for you. You've got nothing to lose by giving it a try.

"THE BEST LAUNDRY SOAP I'VE EVER USED" 2008-12-17
By Andrea Shiell (Lexington Park, MD)

Sometimes a complete accident will lead you to a mainstay product you just can't live without. I found out about this stuff about a year ago on a vegan website where they were discussing cruelty-free laundry detergent, and one person recommended this. I do too. You truly don't need to use more than 1 TBS per load, and this should mean a lot coming from a person who used to use twice as much detergent as she needed to. My clothes don't come out smelling flowery (if you want flowers, go outside and pick them), just clean, and this stuff is also good for heavy duty cleaning, too. It's now the only laundry soap I use, and I recommend it to everyone.

 "Gets the job done!" 2008-08-04
By Peter A. Henderson (Pomona, NY United States)

My wife bought this for the cloth diapers we use for my daughter. It was recommended to her by a friend. We now use it for all of our laundry. It cleans well, smells good and for the amount you use per load (1 Tsp.) it makes it worth it cost wise. I've also used the all purpose cleaner with similar results. Excellent!

"I LOVE this FRAGRANCE FREE laundry detergent!!!" 2009-08-26
By J. Wright (Philadelphia, PA)

I have been using Charlie's Soap for over two years. I was looking for a Green laundry detergent that was fragrance free because my sister gets severe migraines from strong fragrances, so I wanted my clothing to be completely free of fragrance.

One tablespoon of this laundry detergent gets a large load my laundry beautifully clean. My laundry smells so fresh -- no fragrance to cover up odors because there are no odors left when I clean my laundry in Charlee's Soap.

I love how this laundry detergent works and that I can use it for my regular wash and also for my delicates. I use it for silk, cotton, polyester, and blends. It works great and leaves no residue.

I use Charlie's Soap along with 20 Mule Team Borax for my white laundry, and the combination works as good as if not better than when I use bleach. (By the way, you can safely use Charlee's Soap and bleach together on your white laundry items, if you wish).

Charlie's Soap is made by a family owned company. I like supporting that kind of company instead of the big-box stores.

I can't say enough good things about Charlie's Soap and the people who make it. Thanks!!!

P.S. I have noticed that there is a lot less lint on my dryer's lint filter since I started using Charlie's Soap. I think this laundry detergent is much more gentle on my laundry than other detergents that I have used.

 "great, inexpensive solution" 2009-01-01
By T. van Es

I love this soap. I found out about it only from researching natural, economical soap solutions but knew no one who'd tried it around here. So I took a chance and ordered a few bags. After several months of use I can say it does a great job cleaning. It didn't do much for old stains but it does a great job with new potential ones - being on a small farm we've run the gamut of spots from food, dirt, animal wastes, blood, and equipment grime. I love how clean everything looks and smells.

You may not believe the instructions (one scoopful, scooper is buried in the bag so look for it) but trust them! I am using the soap in an HE washer too. I don't think I will ever go back to conventional laundry soap.

Instead of using the bag, I fill a large size plastic yogurt container, cleaned and dried, and use that to store the powder. I find it easier to open and scoop that way.
